Nemo’s Gymnastics Policies
The safety of all our members requires a collective effort - thank you for your support!
Code of Conduct
⭐️ Respect your coaches and each other; show good character
⭐️ Safety first: walk around the equipment, never across it; be attentive to your surroundings
⭐️ Have fun, give your best effort, encourage and support others
Attendance
📧 Give 1/2 term’s notice, within the term, if intending to leave Nemo’s Gymnastics the following term; lack of sufficient notice will result in charge of full fees
🤒 If your participant is off school, has been sick, has a temperature or a persistent cough (not asthma related), please do not come in the gym until fully recovered
🗯️ Notify us if you will be missing two or more sessions
🏫 Arrive on time and always collect your child promptly at the end of the session; remind them that they must wait in the building until collected
🗓 We understand that other things arise beyond our control sometimes! You may make up ONE missed session per term by scheduling to attend another equivalent class during that term.

FAQs

Please wear a long T-shirt that will stay tucked into leggings, shorts or joggers. Girls age 8+ must also wear a sports/crop top or a leotard underneath the t-shirt for safeguarding (no sports/crop tops on their own). Alternatively, a leotard can be worn instead of a T-shirt (no opened-backed leotards). Please bring a bottle of water and tie hair away from the face (long hair tied in a bun).
Footwear: sliders are useful for gymnasts as they can be slipped on when using the toilet facilities; cheer shoes or other clean trainers that have not been worn outdoors since cleaning are required for cheer. For safety, grippy socks can only be worn for medical reasons (e.g. verrucas) or with pre-approval.
Colder months: Long-sleeved tops can be worn in the colder months; hoodies and grippy socks can also be worn, but must be removed after the warm-up.
Adults: please wear close fitting sports clothing or a t-shirt that is long enough to tuck into leggings, shorts or joggers. For safety, grippy socks can only be worn for medical reasons (e.g. verrucas) or with pre-approval.

A member of our TEAM will have a chat with you about how your gymnast got on. You can then let us know via email if you would like to register as a full member. We will then move you onto full registration and you’ll be sent an email for payment. Your gymnast can then join in on every session for the rest of the term, and you will need to register for a British Gymnastics membership.

Yes, we have viewing areas and guardians are very welcome to watch their child(ren)’s session(s). Guardians must not enter the training area without the senior coach’s consent.
-
No, you are free to leave the building and return at the end of the session.
-
For new members we have a relaxed policy towards this for the first term. After this, please have a look at the uniform guidance on our website.
-
Absolutely - gymnasts have access to toilets, but our coaches can’t assist them for safeguarding reasons. If your child needs help with their toileting, we would recommend that you stay during their session until they are able to manage on their own. Please remind your child to wash their hands after using the toilet.

Certain sessions have a longer waiting list than others. We are constantly assessing how best to WIN (Welcome, Include and Nurture) our members and potential members. Therefore, we try and add sessions where space is available, without jeopardising the integrity of our members’ learning or safety.
